Adam Auer - Vice President: Environment & Sustainability – ‎Cement Association of Canada

Adam has over fifteen years experience as a sustainability professional working with public, private and non-profit institutions. As Vice President of Environment and Sustainability with the Cement Association of Canada, Adam works with government, industry, environmental and other civil society groups to promote and enhance concrete’s contribution to sustainability, with a specific emphasis on life cycle approaches to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Keith Brooks - Programs Director, Environmental Defence

Keith worked for a number of years in the environmental consulting field after earning a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences from the University of Guelph. He then enrolled at York University where he earned a Master of Environmental Studies. The move from scientist and consultant to advocate was provoked by the recognition that more science cannot solve the environmental challenge on its own. Our challenge lies not in knowing what must be done, but in doing it. It is this outlook which ultimately led Keith to his current role as the Program Director at Environmental Defence.

Cara Clairman - President and Chief Executive Officer, Plug n’ Drive

Cara is President and CEO of Plug’n Drive, a non-profit that is accelerating the
deployment of EVs to maximize their environmental and economic benefits. In just over three years, Cara has taken Plug’n Drive from an idea to a thriving non-profit, recognized as a leader in the EV space. Cara has more than 20 years of experience working in the environmental and sustainability fields, including 12 years working at Ontario Power Generation, initially as OPG’s environmental lawyer and later in the role Vice President of Sustainable Development

Aaron Freeman - Principal Pivot Strategic

Aaron Freeman is the owner and principal of Pivot Strategic Consulting Inc., which helps companies, NGOs and foundations develop their capacity to solve environmental problems through public policy. He is also the Founder and President of GreenPAC, Canada’s organization to build environmental leadership in politics. Aaron has served as a senior advisor to the Premier of Ontario. He also played a key role in several national advocacy campaigns on environment and energy, democratic reform, consumer, international development and human rights issues.

Kim Jarvi - Acting Director Nursing & Health Policy Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario

 Kim Jarvi is Senior Economist in the Policy Department at the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO). His focus includes environmental, economic, and health policy.

Gaby Kalapos - Executive Director, Clean Air Partnership

Gaby has been working to motivate and support local government action on clean air and climate change for over 20 years. Her passion has been on encouraging the uptake, transfer and implementation of clean air and climate change actions and the building of partnerships that enable collaboration and support between the community and all levels of government.

Julia Langer - Chief Executive Officer, Toronto Atmospheric Fund

Julia has held senior leadership positions in the environmental sector for nearly 30 years, managing campaigns and organizations, defining strategy and policy, and inspiring public and private action to address air pollution and climate change. Julia leads TAF’s staff in advancing the organization’s solutions to climate and air pollution, and with support from TAF’s Investment Committee, oversees the fiscal integrity of TAF’s endowment.

Sarah Petrevan - Senior Policy Advisor, Clean Energy Canada

A passionate policy advocate and commentator, Sarah works to advance policies that support clean energy and tackling climate change. With more than a decade of public policy experience, Sarah manages our work in clean growth—promoting policies and programs that help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating jobs and a strong economy. Before joining Clean Energy Canada, Sarah held several senior positions within the Government of Ontario, and worked for a leading non-profit. She holds a degree in Political Science with a specialization in public policy. Most recently, Sarah is the recipient of the 2018 Clean 50 Emerging Leader Award, in recognition for her leadership in clean capitalism.

Mark Rowlinson - Assistant to the National Director, United Steelworkers

Mark Rowlinson is the Executive Assistant to the Canadian National Director of the United Steelworkers, a senior administrative and policy position within the Union. Mark is also the President of Blue Green Canada, an alliance of Canadian labour unions, environmental and civil society organizations that advocates for working people and the environment by promoting solutions to environmental issues that
have positive employment and economic impacts.
